DCEMSA Completes Facility and Technology Upgrades with Support from Dickinson County Endowment Fund

The Dickinson County EMS Association recently finalized essential improvements to its facility and educational technology, made possible by a generous $8,642.00 grant from the Dickinson County Endowment Fund.

The building upgrades successfully resolved safety and operational hazards at the organization's Spirit Lake facility. The association repaired a classroom ceiling that was at risk of collapsing and installed new LED lighting to ensure staff and student safety while reducing future electric bills. The project also involved critical asbestos abatement and the removal of an old storage building that had fallen into disrepair. By clearing this structure, the association was able to add two new staff parking spaces behind the building, directly helping to relieve the frequently tight parking situation on Lake Street.

The technology portion of the grant addressed outdated equipment that previously hindered educational courses. The association purchased two new laptop computers, assigning one to our education director and dedicating the other to the classroom. This upgrade ensures that videos and PowerPoint presentations run smoothly, eliminating crashes and delays.

The Dickinson County EMS Association extends its sincere gratitude to the Dickinson County Endowment Fund for its partnership in this endeavor. The organization also wishes to specifically thank Sam Wedeking Excavating for safely removing the old storage building, and Jay Sprague, owner of Sprague Building, for completing the improvements to the building's interior. The association was able to fully complete the scope of this project by combining the grant funds with additional generous donations provided by the Royal Neighbors of America and the Milford RAGBRAI Committee.
